The beautiful Bianco Antico Granite takes center stage in this modern update at this year’s St. Margaret’s Guild Decorators’ Show House. Playful accents of over scaled apples, pears and plants leave plenty of space for cooking and entertaining. The huge windows that flank the stove are fitted with white venetian blinds that wipe clean and control the light. We specified a Solna faucet from Brizo. The Solna faucet is a classically designed faucet and features SmartTouch® technology for easy operation and a “hidden” pull-down spray wand.

A closer look at the seating group by the fireplace at this year’s St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild Decorators’ Show House.  The luxurious cut velvet makes a bold statement. An  antique firegrate holds greenery and flowers for the summer. Classical figure drawings are framed simply for the wall above the mantle. The beautiful marble floor of black and white squares framed by a black border was moved from the Grand Hotel in downtown Indianapolis in the 1930′s when the hotel was demolished.

This luxurious walk in shower replaces a dated shower tub combination unit.  We thoroughly updated the space by using simple, elegant finishes such as the  crisp white  tile accented with silver leaf backed glass tiles.  We selected the Vero™  Shower components by Delta Faucet to update the space.  The Vero™ collection in chrome creates drama while maintaining clean lines. A frameless slab of clear glass glides smoothly on the chromed track with the touch of a finger.

A sepia toned classical interior in a silver leaf frame echoes the pattern of the rooms magnificent black and white marble floor. The antique tables’ rich dark rosewood is set off by the terra cotta wall color. Accessories and artwork add to the old world feel of the music room at this year’s Decorators’ Show House. We were honored by The Saint Margarets Guild with the “Maggie” award for our work this year.

The lush velvet chairs provide a relaxing spot to enjoy the music. Antique Chinese tables carved with dragons and lotus blossoms are washed with pewter and support a saxaphone on stand. Its perfect metallic sheen reflects the light from overhead. The room is filled with wind instuments, a magnificent cello and a black laquer piano with an electronic player.

A magnificent stone floor of black and white marble squares provides a perfect background for a grand piano in this music room.  The piano is on loan from Piano Solutions of Carmel, Indiana, and is made by  Yamaha. Antique and reproduction English furniture with warm mellow wood tones compliments the black and white that predominate. The chair at the keyboard of the piano, in the Queen Anne style, is elaborated with gilded Chinoiserie designs.The terra cotta red walls compliment the tile surround on the  fireplace.

This black and white image allow you to enjoy all the subtle details of this magnificently designed kitchen. The barstools are finished with white leather seats and backs. The expansive panel of marbled subway tile creates a clean background for cooking and entertaining.

An additional image from the kitchen we designed for this year’s St. Margaret’s Hospital Guild Decorator’s Show House.  Large scale accessories provide balance to this  open expanse.  The grandly scaled open cage chandelier is from Currey & Co. In the foreground to the left is the corner of an etagere filled with art glass dishes from Bill Sydenstryker. His work is collected by the Tiffany Museum, the Corning Museum and others, and a dessert service is used at the Russian Embassy.  The enameled  pieces bring color and handmade charm to this corner of the room.
