This Indianapolis dining room engages with art and antiques that mix with custom contemporary objects. The antique German shrunk is veneered with exotic wood. Its scale and dramatic proportions anchor the space . The light fixture, an antique that first hung in Radio City Music Hall at Rockefeller Center, is spun aluminium and glass, and washes the room with a soft glow. A custom table sits on a Tibetan carpet and is surrounded by Biedermier style chairs upholstered in leather in colors from the carpet. The artwork, by Leger, hangs to the left of the cabinet. We mixed styles and periods in this eclectic room to great results, the clients and their dinner guests love it.
Dining room tables are used for so much more than dining, so I insist they be easy to maintain like this custom created table. It has an etched glass top in a deconstructed geometric design. It can be cleaned with a swipe of windex, but looks like a work of art.
