Softly patterned wallpaper takes the place of a painting or other artwork over the cabinet. Its white and taupe coloring repeats the colors of the wood floors and of the painted trim. Against it, we placed a pair of pale blue porcelain vases. We used a lantern style chandelier here, with mouth blown bubble glass. Silver leaf on the cabinet doors reflects light filtering through the textured sheer draperies. An expansive mahogany table seats ten in comfort, with armchairs and side chairs mixed. Simple and elegant.
