In a downtown high rise penthouse, we added crisp architectural details to set off the dining space in a huge open living room. Dramatic floor to ceiling draperies in a silver sheer fabric soften the light from the wall of glass. The custom steel and walnut table expands to seat a big group, but here is set up for four with klismos style bleached oak chairs. Their sensuous curves are timeless. The oversize leaf pattern wall sconces take the place of a chandelier, and allow flexibility to move the table for other functions. A herringbone maple floor adds just the right touch of formality.
