In a corner of this large living room in a downtown high-rise penthouse, we created an intimate seating area with plush upholstery. The custom designed corner sofa is covered in a luxurious grey velvet fabric, the pair of swivel chairs in a cut silk velvet with a stylized leaf pattern. The plump pillows on the sofa are covered in different colors of the leaf patterned silk velvet, and trimmed with silver metallic cords. A custom designed steel cocktail table sits on a patterned carpet that repeats the colors of the original oil painting by local artist Julia Zollman Wickes. We framed the piece in a custom lacquered and silver leaf frame, that picks up the silver in the tree trunk table on the left. Light filters through dramatic panels of silver sheer drapery fabric.
