This luxurious downtown Indianapolis master bedroom suite is the perfect escape. We upholstered the walls in the same fabric as the headboard and bedding material to create a soothing monochromatic scheme. The drapery panels, also in the same cashmere fabric, soften light and noise from outside. The effect is luxurious and calming. I personally hate the daily task of “making up the bed”, so I try to create bedrooms that require a minimum of fussing, even if they are traditionally styled. This one, in a more contemporary Indianapolis home, can be “made up” in two minutes by pulling on the fitted bedcover and placing the pair of pillows in shams at the top of the bed. I also have to watch TV in bed in order to fall asleep, as do many people, so a TV is incorporated in the wall opposite the bed, discretely. As with any other room, I want the bedroom to be functional, suitable to the clients likes and dislikes, and to look nice when people come over. I have been in too many Indianapolis homes where the bedroom is the last room to get done, because “people don’t see it”….but I maintain it should be one of the first rooms to think about. It is your space, and where you recharge and get ready to face the day. So make it great.
