Modern Lake Living in the City… This home is situated on a lake and has a large open floor plan. Here the views take center stage. We made the home very comfortable by using mid century pieces of furniture in a monochromatic color scheme. We mixed in bold splashes of color to great affect. The overall feel of the home is very serene and comfortable.
The Le Corbusier sofa, Arne Jacobsen chair, Eames chair and ottoman and Saarinen tables blend with an antique Royal Worcester bowl and French Empire candlestick lamp. The artwork over the limestone and lacquered wood fireplace is framed in silver leaf.
Although the walnut flooring is stained a deep grey-brown, its satin sheen reflects and amplifies the light that pours in from a wall of glass.
