The master bedroom offers a quiet retreat. A bold wall color with similarly colored plush carpet adds to the contemplative feel of the room. The dramatic fretwork screens slide open to reveal a sunflooded private sitting room and office. We replaced the outdated fabric backing of the vintage screens with a vibrant metallic red cloth. The limed oak bed and bedside chests have black lacquered inset panels. A pair of alabaster lamps glow softly and are reflected in the wall of mirrored panels. We had the bedcover made of embroidered silk to fit snugly, simple and easy.
