We recently created these double sided upholstered doors for the entry into a client’s media room. We drew the plans for this Indianapolis home with unfinished space in mind for this area , and the media room was finished after our clients lived here for a while. These upholstered doors are executed with precision detailing using pewter nailheads and tacks to make the pattern on the leather panels. Soft padding underneath gives a slightly rounded effect to the panels. The doors are 8 feet tall. The upholstery provides an added sound barrier for high action sporting events or movie watching. We cater to all the senses with our designs, including sound. The tactile quality of the materials, the crisp finish of the pattern, the hushed whisper of the padding, all are equally important. Every home has its sound issues, especially with the advance of media equipment and the spaces dedicated to its enjoyment. Insulation and sound barriers can make a huge difference in containing the noise , and here is a creative way to insulate doors. They also add to the ceremony of using the room, making the act of just walking in feel like a special event.
